A Fresh Start

Hello, there.  Some of you may already know me.  For others this is a proper introduction.  My name is Rachel.  Some call me Finch.  I am a mother of two beautiful girls, a wife to my high school sweetheart, a creative artists and a hobby farmer.  Over the last 8 years we as a family have been growing.  We grow food, farm animals, our children, and our businesses.  My husband owns his own roofing company that specializes in sustainable and ecologically responsible roofing applications.  I dabble in many different things because as a maker I can't seem to limit myself to just one creative medium.  Lately I have been developing my party styling business locally and creating handmade items to sell online.  At home I sew, embroider, and just about any other thing you can think of that involves creating something useful and beautiful by hand.

I had been blogging before but time got away from me, two pregnancies and a whole lot of living later and it seems that blog was just a stepping stone for where I plan to go with this one today.  I have so much I want to share with you.  I hope you don't mind if I share a bit of this and that.  Instagram is a fun outlet to share a snippet of life and events but I can't really get everything across in just one little square at a time.  If you are at all interested in gardening, farm animals, homesteading, Florida living, crafting, cooking and conversation with friends then this should be a great place to spend some time.
